An older man was sitting in a private box by himself at Cowboy’s Stadium with an empty seat next to him:
A young man saw the empty seat and said to the older man.
“Who on earth paid for these expensive seats and did not show up!
They must be crazy; do you mind if I sit in here with you?”
The old man sadly looked up and said, “For 40 years, me and my darling wife have sat together and watched every home game, but unfortunately she has passed away so she was unable to come, so yes, you can sit, if you like.”
The young man thanked him for his kind generosity and sat beside the old man.
The young man turned to him and said, “I hope you don’t mind me asking, but as sad as your story is, I have to ask, don’t you got any relatives, like a son or grandchild or nephew that you could have brought along with you?”
The old man said, “Yes I have, but they’ve all gone to the funeral.”
