Shared Vision for OHP
Our vision for Oak Hollow Park is a vibrant, connected community where every resident feels valued, every resident feels confident to get involved, and that we have a safe, walkable environment with active participation from residents in shaping the future of our neighborhood.
Bringing neighbors together
We want to encourage residents to get to know each other, participate in local events, and support each other. This can involve brainstorming about block parties, or other get-to-know-your-neighbor events.
Coffee & Conversation meetings
My wife and I have hosted monthly coffee meetings for two years now. We are hopeful other neighbors will host like-minded events to bring neighbors together.
Support Local Businesses:
We encourage residents to shop at local businesses and support the local economy. We should encourage local business owners to attend our events to create a relationship. For future fundraising events, having local business support is smart strategy.
Celebrating Successes and Achievements:
We like the idea of recognizing individuals and groups who have made a positive impact on the neighborhood and acknowledging local achievements. And celebrating the original-owners we still have residing in Oak Hollow Park is long overdue.
Minimum cost Fundraising Events to bring neighbors together
Creative Walking Tours
Choose an outgoing tour guide to lead neighbors walking around the neighborhood. Schedule a time that if you are walking in the tour great, however, the tour guide with a microphone will point out the names of the neighbors standing outside their homes, for example, if you are walking down Pebble Path, you could see Michael & Flora, Les & Magda, Tom, Susie, Maggie, and if you start down Forest Spur, Hi Robert & Pat, Les B & Ron & Lori, … If they ain’t outside or walking, call them out with the microphone! You got the idea … bringing neighbors together.
Ice Cream Social – Fundraising and bringing neighbors together. Another ONE HOUR EVENT.
Pop up event for 35 neighbors. Advertise Ice Cream Social. Buy Ice Cream Waffle Cones, and Cokes …

Coke cost $17.78 (+ tax) for 35 count, about $0.60 each = about $20

If you have someone that volunteers to Bar B Q – Another ONE HOUR EVENT
Barbeque. OK, so the whole idea of a BBQ with your neighbors is pretty classic. Figure our what you plan to cook and charge a little more than is invested. Put out a jar asking for OHPNA donations.
RSVP Potluck Event – Requires a neighbor to handle reservations.
Create food categories and ask neighbors who wants to show up and bring their favorite dish. The RSVP is the food they bring. Put out a jar asking for OHPNA donations. This could be a creative way to prepare for “Neighbors Together” event in October.
Besides hosting coffee meetings, we create videos showing you how to successfully protest your property taxes.
We are hopeful You will help Oak Hollow Park neighbors get Connected!
