A couple were out Christmas shopping together. The mall was bustling with people, and as the wife emerged from a shoe and handbag store, she was surprised to find her husband nowhere in sight. Frustrated, since they still had a lot to do, she called his cellphone to ask where he was.
He answered in a soft voice, “Do you remember that jewelry store we went into a couple of years ago? The one where you fell in love with that beautiful diamond necklace we couldn’t afford, and I promised I’d buy it for you someday?”
Tears started to form in her eyes as she replied, barely containing her excitement, “Yes, I remember that store. How could I forget?”
The husband paused for a moment before replying, “Well, I’m in the bar right next door.”
