Working people often ask retired folks how they keep their days interesting.
Well, for example, the other day, my wife Maria and I went downtown to the River Walk.
When we came out of a restaurant, we saw a cop writing a parking ticket.
We approached him, and I said, “Come on, man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?” He ignored us and continued writing the ticket.
So, I called him “heartless.” He glared at me and started writing another ticket for worn-out tires.
Maria then chimed in and called him “inconsiderate.” He finished the second ticket, placed it on the windshield with the first, and began writing even more tickets.
This went on for about 10 minutes. The more we teased him, the more tickets he wrote.
Just then, our bus arrived. We got on and went home.
We try to have a little fun every day, now that we’re retired. It’s important to keep life interesting at our age.
