A salesman returns from his assignment in Saudi Arabia, looking utterly defeated.
Seeing his face, a friend asks, “Why the long face?”
The salesman groans. “It was a disaster. My marketing campaign completely failed!”
“What happened? I thought you had a solid strategy!”
“Well,” the salesman sighs, “when I got there, I was confident I’d nail it.
The only issue? I don’t speak Arabic. So, I came up with a simple, foolproof ad campaign using three pictures:
First image: A man collapsing in the scorching desert, exhausted.
Second image: The man drinking our new Coca-Cola brand.
Third image: The man looking refreshed and full of energy.
I plastered those posters everywhere — you couldn’t walk a block without seeing them!”
“That sounds brilliant! So why didn’t it work?”
The salesman shakes his head. “Because no one told me they read from right to left!”
